about nancy
| |
Nancy's parents purchased a brand new piano when Nancy was in 2nd grade, and she has been playing the piano ever since that special day! Her Dad had enjoyed hearing his grandmother play the piano when he was young, and he always wanted to give the gift of music to his children. Nancy studied piano with Helen Hetric for 11 years. During this time, Nancy served as accompanist for her junior high and high school choirs, and played solos and duets for special school events. She began playing the trumpet in 5th grade, and loved being a part of the high school marching band. Nancy sang in her school choirs, church choir, and the Rainbow Girls Show Choir that sang competitively. Music activities were so important during Nancy's youth.

Quotes: |
The discovery of song and the creation of musical instruments both owed their origin to a human impulse which lies much deeper than conscious intention: the need for rhythm in life… the need is a deep one, transcending thought, and disregarded at our peril.
